MUR Forged Upper Receiver
A mil-spec flat top upper for AR-15, M16, and M4 rifles, machined from 7075 forging with a thicker wall than standard. Available with or without a forward assist.
The Thicker Wall
The MUR was developed to give a mil-spec correct upper with more material in the walls. That makes the receiver more rigid, which can improve accuracy and reliability and extends the life of the components interfacing with it.
The bore is coated with a dry film lube over the anodized surface, so the carrier runs against a treated surface rather than bare anodizing.
MUR-1A or MUR-1S?
The MUR-1A comes with a shell deflector and a forward assist.
The MUR-1S has a one-piece machined shell deflector and no forward assist. If you go that route, the FCD SBCG has a textured carrier specifically so you can close an out of battery bolt by hand.
Before You Order
Do not remove the shell deflector. It is pinned in place during factory assembly, and VLTOR's lifetime warranty covers their products only as long as they are not modified or disassembled.
