CASV-EL-2 Carbine Extended M-LOK Handguard
A drop-on handguard for carbine gas rifles equipped with a fixed front sight tower, common on 10.5, 14.5, and some 16 inch barrels. Mounts to the existing delta ring.
Keep the Front Sight Tower
Most free float handguards require pulling the front sight base off the barrel. The CASV-EL-2 does not. It is built around a rifle that still has its sight tower, which means no barrel work and no gunsmith.
Installation requires no modification to the firearm beyond removing the sling swivel from the sight tower, if yours has one.
Why the CASV Exists
The CASV was designed in the early 2000s for military users who had rifles with standard delta ring assemblies and flat top receivers, and needed accessory mounting without rebuilding the front end.
It piggy-backs onto the top of a flat top M4 upper and locks to the delta ring, giving far more stability and support than a factory handguard. The continuous top rail also raises the mounting plane, so a standard height optic mount sits where a taller one would otherwise be needed.
Configuration
The lower handguard section is removable, which allows an M203 to be mounted. Rail sections come off as well, so you run only what you need.
QD sling swivel sockets are built into both sides. Installed, the EL-2 adds 13.7 oz without mounted rail sections, so under a pound in most configurations.
Which CASV Do You Need?
Before You Order
The CASV is sold as a handguard only. It does not include a barrel nut or delta ring, because it was designed as a drop-in for rifles that already have them.
A delta ring is required. VLTOR does not recommend running any CASV without a standard delta ring assembly. If you need one, we stock the DS Arms enhanced delta ring kit and a TDP spec barrel nut. Any standard delta ring will work.
