Why Bother With a Tool
The floor plate on a Glock magazine is held by a retainer that has to be depressed before the plate will slide off. Most people do it with a punch, a screwdriver, or whatever is on the bench, and the usual results are a scratched magazine body, a slipped tool, or a spring and follower launched across the room.
This tool is shaped for that one job. It depresses the retainer cleanly and gives you control of the plate as it comes off.
