How It Was Developed
Sprinco worked with two commercial ammunition manufacturers and two gunsmiths to arrive at the Yellow. Four evaluation samples went out, and this load was the consensus choice across all parties.
What It Is For
Low power training ammunition, including SRTA and Simunition rounds, and lightweight competition rifles where you want a fast cycle rate and bolt bounce is less of a concern.
Which Sprinco Spring Do You Need?
Sprinco color codes every spring so you can identify what is in a rifle without pulling it apart. For AR-15 carbine buffer tubes, lightest to heaviest:
For a rifle length tube, including the VLTOR A5, use the Green rifle length spring.
The Wire
Sprinco springs are made from chrome silicon wire stock, the same material used in Formula One and motor valve springs, where a spring may see up to 15 million compression cycles in a single race. A carbine will see a fraction of that over its life.
Each spring is heat treated, shot peened, and treated with a proprietary formula intended to hold spring rate over time.
