Green A5 Rifle Buffer Spring
A standard power rifle length buffer spring, loaded to match a brand new mil-spec spring. Color coded green.
Where It Fits
Built for A1 and A2 fixed stock rifle length receiver extensions with rifle length buffers. It is also the spring most commonly used in the 7.75 inch VLTOR A5 tube with a 4 inch A5 buffer.
Primarily intended for lighter calibers in A2 rifle tubes: .223, 5.56, 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel, and 7.62x39.
It can also suit long barrels of 20 inches and up with rifle length gas in heavier calibers such as .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .260 Remington, often paired with an H2 or H3 carbine buffer in a rifle length tube.
Before You Order
The Green may not be effective for unsuppressed 7.62x51. For over gassed heavier caliber rifles with rifle length tubes, Sprinco points to the Red or Orange carbine springs with a 3.25 inch carbine buffer and a spacer to reach the correct tube depth.

Which Sprinco Spring Do You Need?
The Green is the rifle length spring. For carbine length buffer tubes, Sprinco color codes by power, lightest to heaviest:
- Yellow, reduced power — roughly 20% lighter than White, for Simunition, SRTA, and lightweight competition rifles
- White, standard power — the load of a brand new mil-spec M4 spring
- Hot White, intermediate power — between White and Blue
- Blue, enhanced power — roughly 15% greater than White
- Red, extra power — roughly 25% greater than White, for AR-10 and SR-25 pattern with 3.25 inch buffers
- Orange, extra extra power — stouter than Red, for DPMS pattern .308 carbines
The Wire
Sprinco springs are made from chrome silicon wire stock, the same material used in Formula One and motor valve springs, where a spring may see up to 15 million compression cycles in a single race. A rifle will see a fraction of that over its life.
Each spring is heat treated, shot peened, and treated with a proprietary formula intended to hold spring rate over time.
