Why a Piston Is Required
Most handguns use a tilting barrel action. Adding the weight of a suppressor at the muzzle interferes with the barrel unlocking, and the gun stops cycling.
A piston, also called a booster or Nielsen device, allows the suppressor to move independently of the barrel so the action cycles normally. Every tilting barrel host requires one.
Thread Pitches Covered
Handgun thread pitches vary by cartridge and manufacturer, so a suppressor moved between hosts needs a piston for each. This kit covers the five most common:

Before You Order
Confirm your suppressor accepts pistons. A modular SilencerCo suppressor requires a piston mount fitted first: the Bravo Piston Mount for the Hybrid 46 and Bravo MAAD Brake, or the Charlie Piston Mount for the Hybrid 46M, Omega 36M, and Charlie MAAD Brake.
