The LMT Specwar was designed in conjunction with some of America’s most specialized warfighters and features key differences to other LMT MRP-L upper receivers. The Specwar chassis was designed specifically for the 12.5” Midlength gas, short dwell time barrel but can accept any 12” or longer LMT MRP barrel.
The Specwar omits the forward QD sling swivel points to provide better ergonomics and increase real estate for rail mounted accessories. The 12.5” Mid-Length Gas Barrel available HERE features a short dwell time, reducing internal component wear and increasing reliability with external inputs such as suppressors.
The patented LMT Monolithic Rail Platform, MRP™ upper receiver. The receiver and handguard are made from a single piece of forged aerospace aluminum. The barrel is held in place with a proprietary locking system that utilizes two locking bolts accessible from the right side of the receiver. The only tool needed is a standard T-30 Torx bit to tighten the bolts. This receiver requires the patented LMT monolithic barrel assembly which has a low profile gas block with straight gas tube.
