HF-601 Extended Takedown & Pivot Pins
A collaboration between Hodge Defense Systems and Forward Controls Design, based on FCD's PF-040 with Jim Hodge's input on what he wants on HDSI rifles. Precision billet machined from 17-4 stainless on Swiss machines and black nitride treated.
Colt 601 Cues
Jim Hodge has a soft spot for the Colt 601, and the HF-601 carries a lot of that rifle's pin detailing. Dimples on both sides of the takedown pin and on the left side of the pivot pin, and the slight rim on the left side of the takedown pin tip, are faithfully reproduced.
The one departure is the pivot pin. On a Colt 601 the right side head is flat, and it is flat here too.
Extended by 0.040
Like the PF-040, these run 0.040 inches longer than TDP takedown and pivot pins, which makes them far easier to push out on a tight receiver set, with gloves on, or in cold weather.
Pin diameter adheres to TDP dimensions and tolerances at 0.2485 +0.000 / -0.005.
Detent and Spring Kit
The HF-601 can be ordered with an optional kit of four detents and three springs. The odd count is deliberate. Even experienced builders launch a pivot pin detent across the room, and bending a takedown detent spring during installation is easy to do.
