HODGE DEFENSE
10.75" Spine Lock M-LOK Handguard
The latest improvement to the HDSI rail line, in a short configuration at 15.6 oz. The Spine Lock is a marriage of the Wedge Lock and Pinch Lock profiles, slimmer while maintaining rigidity along the length of the rail.
Spine Lock or Pinch Lock?
Hodge makes two current rail systems, and the difference is profile against capability.
Spine Lock is the newer and slimmer of the two. If you want the smallest profile in your support hand without giving up rigidity, this is it.
Pinch Lock is the more robust option, developed to meet specific requirements including mounting an M203.
Length Options
Both systems are offered in the same three lengths.
Layout
M-LOK slots on three sides, plus two fore-end slots at the 1 and 11 o'clock positions specifically for light mounting.
The Spine Lock is a robust system and provides a stable way to run enablers mounted on the rail, which matters most for an IR laser that has to hold zero.
Installation
Everything you need is in the box: the steel barrel nut, the wrench, and an alignment pin.
The alignment pin is a separate piece rather than machined into the handguard, so it is there if your upper is drilled for one and simply unused if it is not. This handguard fits either way.
Building from scratch and want to use it? Hodge, SOLGW, and Forward Controls Design uppers are all drilled for an alignment pin.
