PF-040 MARS-H & SR25 Extended Takedown & Pivot Pins
The large frame version of the PF-040, built specifically for the LMT MARS-H, Knight's Armament SR25 and M110, Centurion Arms MK11, and LaRue 7.62 AR-10 rifles. Machined from 17-4 stainless and 0.040 inches longer than the factory pins.
Reverse Extended
Most extended pins add length on the head side, which is exactly where an ambidextrous safety selector lives. The PF-040 adds its 0.040 on the left side of the receiver instead, so it stays clear of the safety.
Press the pins in from the left and that extra length gives you leverage to pull the right side head out. On an extremely tight receiver set, that is the whole difference.
It matters most with gloves on, in cold weather, or if you break the rifle down regularly for a range bag or run multiple uppers on one lower.
The Pin Heads
The right side heads are smooth with a slight 45 degree chamfer. The left side carries a small dimple, sized so the tip of a bullet up to 9mm can push the pins through when you need the extra leverage.
Small Frame Instead?
For a standard AR-15 or M16, see the standard PF-040. For a Hodge Defense build, the HF-601 is the same design with Colt 601 styling cues.
