MSQ-H M-LOK QD Sling Adapter
The MSQ-H is an M-LOK QD swivel sling adapter billet machined in 4140 steel and black nitrided. The QD socket is rotation limited. M-LOK mounting hardware is included.
Why Steel Instead of Aluminum
Most M-LOK sling mounts are aluminum. A sling mount is a single attachment point carrying the entire weight of the rifle, and it takes a shock load every time the gun drops to the end of the sling.
4140 steel has a tensile strength of 95,000 psi. 7075-T6 is 73,000, and 6061 yields at 40,000. The MSQ-H weighs 0.867 oz, which is heavier than an aluminum mount. That is the trade, and it is a deliberate one.
The MSQ-H is part of Forward Controls' H line, alongside the ESF-H end plate and the EMR-H magazine release. H is for heavy, and it is not an accident.
Installation
Torque to 35 in-lb on metal handguards, or 15 in-lb on polymer handguards. Magpul specifies these as recommended limits rather than minimums. An 8/32 Allen wrench is required and not included.
Pair it with the FCD CSF two point sling, which needs QD sockets front and rear.
