EPC Ejection Port Cover, Single Dimple
The EPC is based on TDP dimensions with a few deliberate changes. Billet machined from 7075 aluminum and Type III hard coat anodized in black, FDE, or ODG.
The Standoff Tabs
Two tabs flank the cutout for the port cover spring. They let the EPC rest against the upper at a greater angle when open, which opens up the space between the cover and the lower receiver.
The point is getting a finger underneath it to swing it closed. On a TDP cover that gap is tight.
Note that the thickness of the receiver below the ejection port varies between uppers, which affects how far open the EPC sits.
The Dimple
A shallow circular depression on the left side gives your finger something to find and something to push against. A flat surface offers neither traction nor any way to tell one part of the cover from another by feel.
This is the single dimple version. The twin dimple is the same cover with two.
Which EPC Do You Need?
Single and twin dimple are a feel preference, nothing more. Both have standoff tabs and both fit standard mil-spec uppers.
If you are running a SIG MCX or BCM MK2 upper, those receivers have no standoff tabs of their own and need the no standoff tab version instead.
