EPC Ejection Port Cover, No Standoff Tabs
This variant of the EPC is built specifically for SIG MCX and BCM MK2 receivers, which do not have standoff tabs. Billet machined from 7075 aluminum and Type III hard coat anodized in black, FDE, or ODG.
Which EPC Do You Need?
SIG MCX or BCM MK2 upper: this one. Those receivers lack the standoff tabs the standard EPC is designed around.
Standard mil-spec upper: the single dimple or twin dimple EPC. Those have standoff tabs that hold the cover open at a wider angle, which makes it easier to get a finger underneath to close it.
This version will physically work on a standard mil-spec upper, but it will sit at a steeper angle when open than the standard EPC does.
The Dimple
A shallow circular depression on the side gives your finger something to find and something to push against. A flat surface offers neither traction nor any way to tell one part of the cover from another by feel.
Forward Controls uses flat surfaces where they earn their place. On a control surface like this one, flat rarely makes sense.
