FORWARD CONTROLS DESIGN
CBW Combination Barrel Nut Wrench
A standard AR-15 and M16 barrel nut wrench on one end, an A2 rifle length receiver extension wrench on the other, and a torque wrench drive socket in the middle. Billet machined from 4140, heat treated and black oxide coated.
Why Not an Armorer's Wrench
A typical armorer's wrench weighs about 1.8 lb, and half of that is handle. The CBW is 7.6 oz because it does away with the handle entirely, on the assumption you are using a torque wrench anyway.
That makes it far more nimble for the two jobs it is designed to handle, and it fits in a range bag rather than dominating one.
Forward Controls builds dedicated single purpose tools rather than multi-function armorer's wrenches. The correct torque value is engraved on the barrel nut side.
The Rest of the Set
The CBW handles barrel nuts and rifle receiver extensions. For the other jobs on a build, the JMW covers muzzle devices and suppressor mounts, and the JCW covers castle nuts including end plates with side facing QD sockets.
All three require a 1/2 inch drive torque wrench.
