The 8.5” Criterion CORE is a Chrome Lined 4150 CrMoV Barrel with a Pistol Length Gas System and a 1:7 Twist chambered in .300 AAC Blackout. Designed to handle both Supersonic and Subsonic Cartridges, along with the venerable CORE profile, these barrels are ideal for a PDW style rifle.

BALANCE
The Profile of the Criterion CORE barrels is one of the largest differentiators between it and other popular barrels on the market. Criterion designed the CORE series of barrels for the modern day shooter. Now what exactly does that mean? In the last decade alone, there have been vast technological advancements across the firearm industry and the standardization of forward mounted accessories such as lights, lasers and suppressors has become much more common. While these can all greatly enhance your capability, they don’t come without a cost; weight. The CORE series of Barrels feature a continuous tapered profile that keeps the bulk of the weight towards the chamber and tapers down towards the front which results in a much more balanced rifle.
HANDLING
The CORE series of barrels keep more of the weight towards the rear of the barrel, near the chamber. This results in better handling for the shooter as the entire weight of the rifle including any optics and accessories is not biased to one part of the rifle and is more evenly balanced across the entire rifle.
PERFORMANCE
The CORE barrels are Chrome Lined which elongates barrel life and adds a layer of corrosion resistance without degrading accuracy. While the CORE barrels feature a taper and better balance the weight, they are in no way a “Pencil” or Lightweight barrel. They aim to provide a better balanced barrel that can still stand up to the use and abuse of a seasoned shooter. Chambered in .300 AAC Blackout, the CORE 300 Series of barrels are designed to stabilize a wide range of BOTH supersonic and subsonic cartridges. The barrels also feature honed and hand-lapped rifling to produce perfect bore uniformity and a pristine internal finish. The Pistol Length Gas System that is appropriately ported to its length makes the CORE a soft shooting, accurate and reliable barrel.
